The Chinese Democracy album from Guns 'N' Roses is like the Duke Nukem Forever game: it's been vaporware for so long that the release date is a joke synonymous with "when Hell freezes over/pigs fly".  In March, Dr. Pepper said they'd give out free soda-pop to everyone in America if Axl Rose finished the thing this year.  Well, it went on sale today, so Dr. Pepper has a website where you can sign up for your free drink.

I will not sign up.  The website has three strikes against it:
1) They say they're offering the free product to "every American" (that's me), but actually it's for US addresses only (not me).  I suppose this is reasonable by American standards of isolationism, but I would have to have the coupon sent to my brother-in-law's house.
2) and 3) By signing up you agree to their Privacy Policy and their Terms of Use, but both of the referenced documents give 404 errors.  I do not agree to terms that will be selected later!

Now I'm really curious what those terms would be. Some of them are simply so ridiculous that I couldn't ever see a judge actually enforcing half the crap on them.

....But then again, I've been shocked into a stunned silence by more than one judicial decision.

I wonder if there's a cane sugar version of Dr. Pepper produced anywhere?

Barring that, there's always dropping a shot glass of cherry whiskey into a glass of beer a-la "boilermaker" style. If you drink it all down in one shot, it has a lovely Dr. Pepper-ish aftertaste.

Yes, there is. Dr Pepper is reasonably popular here in the UK, and almost all non-diet fizzy drinks are made with sugar here. How the tastes compare I don't know as I've never drunk US-spec Dr Pepper.

In my experience, any soda made with corn syrup is vastly inferior to one made with sugar.

I thought I'd replied here before. But my memory has been known to be preemptive.

I'd heard that the Mexican soda was sugar instead of corn syrup. I also heard that Kosher Coca Cola was sugar too. Supposedly that can be found in the right places in the GTA. Although possibly only during certain times of the year.

The Jägerbomb sounds pretty much like the right method for making a Dr. Pepper. I'm not sure about mixing it with Red Bull though. Never tried it. I do like both Grey Goose vodka and Hill's Absinthe with Red Bull.
