I like Dr. Pepper, but not their website
Nov. 23rd, 2008 03:12 pmThe Chinese Democracy album from Guns 'N' Roses is like the Duke Nukem Forever game: it's been vaporware for so long that the release date is a joke synonymous with "when Hell freezes over/pigs fly". In March, Dr. Pepper said they'd give out free soda-pop to everyone in America if Axl Rose finished the thing this year. Well, it went on sale today, so Dr. Pepper has a website where you can sign up for your free drink.
I will not sign up. The website has three strikes against it:
1) They say they're offering the free product to "every American" (that's me), but actually it's for US addresses only (not me). I suppose this is reasonable by American standards of isolationism, but I would have to have the coupon sent to my brother-in-law's house.
2) and 3) By signing up you agree to their Privacy Policy and their Terms of Use, but both of the referenced documents give 404 errors. I do not agree to terms that will be selected later!

Date: 2008-11-25 01:01 am (UTC)I'd heard that the Mexican soda was sugar instead of corn syrup. I also heard that Kosher Coca Cola was sugar too. Supposedly that can be found in the right places in the GTA. Although possibly only during certain times of the year.
The Jägerbomb sounds pretty much like the right method for making a Dr. Pepper. I'm not sure about mixing it with Red Bull though. Never tried it. I do like both Grey Goose vodka and Hill's Absinthe with Red Bull.

Date: 2008-12-12 07:04 am (UTC)I have never tried absinthe. The US now allows sale of absinthe as long it contains only negligible amounts of thujone, where "negligible" is defined as 10mg/kg. Ontario allows only 1mg/kg, which then is beyond "negligible" and into the "infinitesimal" range. The Hill's website doesn't mention the word "thujone". Is there any detectable psychoactivity in Hill's?
