Some call-outs to my furiends

Last week's friends-only post got 25 comments, from 9 individuals.  In honour of a journal-entry that danruk once did, here are some call-outs to my furiends:

To xolo, for never missing an opportunity to comment on tracking GIFs.

To porsupah, for out-weirding me by actually liking the ARM7TDMI assembly language.

To stuffedwithfluf, for raising the kidlets so I can sit around and press buttons all day.

To dakhun, for trying to find reasons for me not to be sad about the events described in the friends-only post.  Sir, you are what Mr. Fitzpatrick had in mind when he selected a set of features, called them "LiveJournal friend", and thought that would be a cool program to write.

To ducktapeddonkey, for making my reality furrier.

To avenginglioness, for hanging in there while life empties a dumptruck of lemons on your head.  Oh, and the seasonal greetings card too!

It is difficult to remain silent about such an obvious evil.

The evil is not in the technology, but in the reported uses selected by our fear-obsessed mass media.  At Company Γ, I don't use tracking GIFs (except in the "Thank you for creating an account at our website" email, which also has the return-receipt-requested flag) because I have access to the raw server logs, which I use when customers send in complaints to determine what the complainant was actually doing at the time when things didn't go right for them.
