Today is LJ "down the rabbit hole" day
Jan. 27th, 2006 11:28 pmIt seems I am mostly done with the 24-hour bug that everyone's been getting. Vomiting occurred at 00:00, 02:00, and 06:00 Eastern time, which puts me ahead of my son (6 times) and daughter (13 times) and the boy at a birthday party whom we got it from (17 times). I've spent most of the last 26 hours either lying flat on my back in bed, or reclined in an easy chair staring into space.
I told Wifey not to cancel her chiropractic appt., so this morning I had to get up and drive her. The road seemed much bumpier than usual—perhaps my "core" muscles are feeling weak. She took the kids into her appointment while I stayed in the car with the seatback reclined. My daughter sold 5 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the doctor and his receptionist! We drove immediately home and I went back to doing as little as possible, waiting for it all to be over.
From 21:00 yesterday until 18:30 today I had nothing by mouth except water, Tylenol, and Tums. Then I ate a third of a gigantic red delicious apple and went back to bed. Around 22:00 I had a slice of bread. Maybe I should eat some more soon.
I still haven't sent an email to my boss telling him that I'm taking a sick day today. I guess it's pretty obvious by now.
What really happened: I wish I was making this up! The joke is that you're supposed to think this entry is fake. And it certainly is not the usual thing I write about, eh?
