My car's at the local dealership today, in the middle of two days of repairs for all the problems that I've been putting off for years.  I do *not* want to cross the Canadian border in a car whose driver's window won't roll down!

Anyway, one of the problems to be fixed is "airbag idiot light is on".  I mentioned this in a post 18 months ago.  At that time, [livejournal.com profile] mrcougar asserted (without seeing even a videotape of the patient) that the problem was a bad clockspring and that it was covered by a recall.  Well, yesterday the Chrysler mechanic called me with the itemized bill.  The problem is a bad clockspring, but it is *not* covered by recall because (and this wasn't mentioned in my earlier post) I have a 2002 Voyager and the recall applies only to 2000 and earlier models.

Pay attention, folks!  This isn't something you see every day!  [livejournal.com profile] mrcougar's answer was less than 100% correct in every possible way.  That's like getting the 299 ring in league bowling.  I'm sure it's like something in casino gambling—maybe 3 matching fruit on a slot machine but one of them slightly misaligned so non-paying?

Anyway, let's have a paw of applause for everyone's favourite mechanicougar and his mostly-right diagnosis!

Hey, Coug, what will tomorrow's lotto numbers be?
